MATTA Fair September 2015 - Received Support From Tourism Malaysia To Promote Domestic Tourism

 

KUALA LUMPUR, 17 August 2015: MATTA Fair® September 2015 again received support from Tourism Malaysia in promoting domestic tourism. The partnership is in line with the government’s aim to promote domestic tourism. It also creates marketing platform for industry players who engage specifically in domestic packages and services.

MATTA FAIR® September 2015 will be held at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur on 4 - 6 September from 10.00am to 9.00pm. There will be a  total number of 1233 booths from 6 halls with 27,400m2 exhibition space  occupied.

Tourism Malaysia is taking 70 booths. States Travel Organisations such as Sabah, Sarawak, Langkawi, Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu, Kedah, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, Pahang and Putrajaya are in this MATTA Fair too.

With more booths than previous fairs, MATTA is looking forward to an exciting time and more visitors coming to this fair. With the support from Tourism Malaysia, MATTA Fair will continue to contribute and support the growth of domestic and inbound tourism. Hall 4 and part of Hall 3 are specifically to promote domestic tour and travel holiday packages.

This is part of MATTA’s efforts to focus on domestic travel and destinations to boost the domestic tourism and economic. As the country’s national association for tour and travel agencies, MATTA is always committed to supporting the government in promoting domestic tourism.

In 2014, the total number of domestic tourists in Malaysia increased 11.6% to 60.7 million compared to 54.4 million in 2013.

“The travel patterns of Malaysians have changed. For instance, now they prefer to use travel packages or stay at hotel when visiting relatives. Therefore, this is an opportunity to promote domestic packages,” said the Director Domestic Marketing Division of Tourism Malaysia Encik Iskandar Mirza Mohd Yusof.

“Tourism Malaysia has always supported and cooperated with MATTA to boost the tourism industry, particularly domestic tourism. For this upcoming MATTA Fair, a total of 110 tourism trade players will participate under the umbrella of Tourism Malaysia,” he added.

Being the largest consumer travel fair in the Southeast Asia region, MATTA FAIR® September 2015 is bracing for more excitement and buzz as it sets to elevate the atmosphere of the Fair to another level.
